~ Three episodes in which Lincoln helped Peter
Okay but can we talk about how Fringe managed to give us the healthiest, most mature resolution to a love triangle?
I’m talking specifically about the way Peter and Lincoln handled themselves with eachother and with Olivia. Here we have these two amazing, beautiful, good guys, having feelings for the same woman. And yet, there was not one single moment in which they felt the need to act like assholes towards the other or towards Olivia.
Lincoln, as heartbroken as he was, accepted and respected Olivia’s decision. She loved Peter, and that was enough for him. And he also kept his respect for Peter. In his mind, he never turned Peter into the villain of his story, the guy who stole his chance. Peter continued to be, above all, a friend.
And Peter respected Lincoln enough to not dismiss his feelings. He cared about how Lincoln was feeling, and he offered him to talk about it. He acknowledged the honorable way in which Lincoln behaved, and showed him his appreciation.
These two guys were friends, and these two guys respected Olivia above all. And they managed to not break neither of those two things in the process.

She’s your Olivia, I get it. I mean, I don’t really get it. She can suddenly become this other version of herself? Different circumstances, I may think you are drugging her, doing something to her… but… I don’t know if she told you this, but when I first met her, I had lost my partner… Robert. He and his wife, Julie, they have this incredible relationship. The way she looked at him… Olivia looks at you the same way. So why don’t we just… leave it at that?
It’s my dreams you take.
"who do you pair that character with?"
happiness. life. being happy. not being dead. i want them to be alive and safe. and happy. that’s what i’m getting at. that is the direction this is going in. that’s my only wish
